“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." ~Matthew 5:13-16

Mission Statement

My desire with Salt and Light is to be an encouragement to parents who have their children in the public school system.  Although, there are times when I post information directly related children and their education, the vast majority of what I write is geared toward encouraging the parent in their walk with God.  You see, I believe that unless we are modeling a life completely sold out to Christ, we can't expect our kids to live for and walk with God.

And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.  (Titus 2:7)
